Safety Overview
At LUFC, we strive to provide quality soccer experiences for our members in a safe and healthy environment. In an effort to achieve this goal, LUFC has compiled a set of safety policies and guidelines regarding several areas of the organization. The objective is to outline procedures, many of them new, which can be followed by players, coaches, parents and others to provide a safe, enjoyable place for our children.
The Player Safety Policies and Guidelines focus on:
Team Managers, please review and incorporate the policy topics in this overview with your team's parents. LUFC thanks you for helping take care of all of our kids.
Concussion Safety
Avoiding proper concussion treatment can end soccer careers, even for top athletes in the game. Take concussions seriously! Coaches, when in doubt, sit them out!

Age Groups
The Academy and Select Programs are governed by US Soccer's age group classification. Age groups are determined by birth year. Your "U" age group is determined by a simple formula:
Year Season Ends – Birth Year = Age Group
For example:
2020-21 (Season) – 2006 (Birth Year) = 15U (Age Group)
Clubs, teams, and players are free to play in a higher age group (i.e. - a U13 player may compete on a U14 team) but cannot compete in a lower age group (i.e. - a U13 player cannot compete on a U12 team).
Select Tryouts will also be done by age group. Please see the chart below for reference.

Winter Weather Policy
We will make every effort to give at a minimum notice of 2hrs for any cancellations. For example, tomorrow morning the first futsal game is scheduled for 7:30AM. That means we will strive to post any cancellation impacting that game no later than 5:30AM.
Sometimes conditions get worse as the day goes on. In these situations we may proceed with games as scheduled during the first part of the day, but then make a call to cancel all games after a specific time. Again, we will do our best to give 2hrs notice in these situations as well.
In the event of a cancellation, it will be posted on our website:
Winter weather in Wisconsin can be challenging to predict. Please be patient with us as we strive to make the best decisions about player (and parent) safety on the roads and all of our desires to get on the field and play.
