Soccer Programs

Current Programs

Lakeshore United FC offer numerous programs throughout the course of a year.  These are typically a series of weekly or bi-weekly events such as practices, clinics, and/or games where players make a committment for a several weeks or up to a full year.  For the 2019-20 season, LUFC Programming includes:  Jr Stars, Academy, Recreation, Select, Futsal, and TOPSoccer.

Jr Stars Soccer Program

Jr Stars Soccer Program

Jr Stars

The Jr Stars Program is a fun 6-session program held each spring and fall for 4K, 5K, and 1st Grade players.  One of the main goals of the Stars program is to provide a safe, inclusive, and structured play so that our youngest athletes can be encouraged and grow in their first organized soccer experience.

Practices are held once a week.  No teams.  No scoreboards.  Just fun.

Academy Program

Academy Soccer Program

Academy

The Lakeshore United FC Academy Program provides an opportunity for a more challenging level of competition and training than the LUFC Community REC Program.  This U8-U10 program is designed for the serious youth soccer player who has demonstrated the committment to practice multiple days a week for this 12 month program.  These additional touches on the ball help build skill and prepare athletes to play select soccer in the future.

The goals of the Academy Program are to teach and develop the players in a positive, creative, fun and challenging environment. Teams will train in a pool format with smaller, flexible game day rosters to facilitate competition and participation.

Community REC Program

Community REC Soccer Program

Community REC Soccer

The Community REC Program is for all area youth from 1st grade through high school.  The purpose of the LUFC Community REC is to provide and foster organized youth soccer for girls and boys at a fun yet challenging level.  The philosophy of our program is to promote participation, emphasize sportsmanship and develop skills with an appreciation for the game of soccer.

The programming year includes both the Fall and Spring sessions for 1st through 8th grade with approximately 16 games total - all occurring on Saturday mornings or early afternoons.  Teams also get the opportunity to compete in the annual LUFC Recreational Tournament every fall.

Beginning in summer of 2020, Lakeshore United is introducing a new Summer League.  This will be open for all soccer players in middle through high school.  Additional details will be shared later this year.

LUFC Recreation Coaches are all SafeSport certified, and receive support and training from Director of Coaching, Jonathan Greenfield.  All coaches have the opportunity to continue their training with sponsored courses from US Soccer, which offers licensing programs from Grassroots through Professional.

Select Program

Select Soccer Program

Select

Lakeshore United FC offers a higher level of competition in its Select Program for U11 - U19 Girls and Boys. Playing on a LUFC Select team requires a year-long commitment by the player and their family.  Each team is coached by a USSF/WYSA licensed coach and will receive training led by LUFC’s Director of Coaching, Jonathan Greenfield.

All teams have a mandatory team camp in July or August that stresses LUFC curriculum, philosophies and team building.

Futsal Program

Futsal Indoor Soccer Program

Futsal

Futsal is an exciting, fast-paced small sided soccer game that is played across the world and is officially recognized by both FIFA and UEFA.

Futsal earned the status of FIFA’s official form of indoor soccer in the 1980s as it was recognized as a scaled down version of outdoor soccer played indoors.  It is a 5 v 5 small-sided game played on a hard surfaced, basketball sized court with a smaller, low bounce ball.  Futsal is played with touchline boundaries and without walls.

Futsal places a large emphasis on technical skill in high pressure situations which can be translated into the outdoor game.  The sport is a great skill developer as it demands quick reflexes, fast thinking and pin-point passing.

Futsal is played in all the continents of the world by over 100 countries with 12 million players.  Great soccer superstars such as Pele, Zico, Ronaldo, Messi, Kaka and Katia grew up playing the game and credit futsal with developing their skills.

TOPSoccer Program

TOPSoccer Program

TOPSoccer

"The best day of the week is TOPSoccer day."  TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a community-based training and team placement program for young athletes with disabilities, organized by youth soccer association volunteers. The program is designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any boy or girl who has a mental or physical disability.

This free program pairs athletes with special needs 1-to-1 with a player volunteer for buddy-assisted drills and scrimmages.  Players, buddies, and parents alike will all tell you that their favorite day of the week is TOPSoccer day.
