The Juniors Program is a fun, 6-session program held each spring and fall for 4K and 5K players. One of the main goals of the Juniors Program is to provide a safe, inclusive, and structured play so that our youngest athletes can be encouraged and grow in their first organized soccer experience.
Each Juniors Program session is run by LUFC coaching staff, player volunteers, and interested parents. Lakeshore United offers free training for any parent that is interested in getting involved with coaching. Even if you haven't played organized soccer before, this is an excellent opportunity to learn more and begin your own soccer journey along with your children.
Please contact Jonathon Greenfield with any questions.
What to Expect
When families arrive at their first Juniors session, one of our Program Coordinators will check you in and make sure each player receives their very own soccer ball and Lakeshore United FC shirt. After you are checked in, we get players onto the field right away to start playing.
To allow all boys and girls opportunities to dribble, pass, and shoot, players will scrimmage one another in a 2v2 or 3v3 format with multiple goals. The Juniors Program does not have formal teams and rosters, so players will receive a penny and join a new team as soon as they arrive each week. Our Juniors staff oversee the 2v2 and 3v3 games to help demonstrate, encourage, and guide the athletes as they play.
About halfway though each weekly session, we bring several groups together for activities that will help introduce soccer skills and allow players opportunities to practice. These activites are often familiar to children with a fun soccer twist.
At the end of each week, our small groups get back together for a send-off cheer!
